Owl figurines designed by Lillemor Mannerheim-Klingspor in the 1980:s for Arabia ceramics, Finland. These are part of a series of figurines representing endangered animals that she designed.  These were produced and sold as part of a campaign by WWF supporting the work for saving these species.
Other figurines that she designed for this series are at least a pair of koalas, penguins, pandas, otters, seals, a black grouse, capercaillie and zebra.. They are all signed Lillemor and bear WWF and Arabia logos as well.

We have both sizes of the owls.
They are sold separately.
The bigger one is 215 mm long and 165 mm high.
The smaller one is 190 mm long and 125mm high.
The small owl has a faint perl lustre coating on the body part.

When you click on either size under the heading, a picture of that variant will appear uppermost and the price of that piece will be seen under the heading. Now that paticular item can be added to the cart.

Lillemor Mannerheim-Klingspor (1927-1994) was born in Finland, studied art in Stockholm and Paris, and got married in Sweden. Designed for Gefle Porslinsfabrik in Sweden and for Rörstrand in Sweden as well, and also for Arabia in Finland and was good friends among others with Birger Kaipiainen at Arabia. For many years when her children were small she mainly worked at her own pottery at the home mansion in the south-west of Sweden and had somewhat of a come back in the -80's with the many animal figurines for WWF at Arabia.
