The blue and white Annual Bird of 2017 is the Kiuru bird (= Lark). 2017 is the year when Finland celebrated its 100 years of Indepenency. Thus it is very appropriate with a blue and white Annual bird.
The design is by Oiva Toikka, and the bird is somewhat similar to the beige and white Raquel, the Annual bird of year 2009.
Kiuru is hand made at Iittala glass factory in Finland.
In the last pictures you see Kiuru together with its egg and also together with Raquel.
Kiuru is illustrated on page 190 in the book "Toikan Lasilinnut-Toikka's Glass Birds".
