This is a handsome Red Ibis bird, although it is not signed.
The reason for it being left unsigned may have been that on the foot pillar there is a smooth irregular area, where the glass has been floating in a wavy manner seen on the left hand side at the lower end of the pillar, or it could have been because a thin part of the white of the bottom plate is on close inspection visible from the right side of the foot piece, more so when the bird is standing on a dark surface.
Neither of these imperfections are necessarily very disturbing. So here comes an opportunity for someone to get a charismatic bold Red Ibis at quite an affordable price. See close up views of the foot!
The bird stands steadily, and is well balanced and it is in many ways a great individual.
Both the Red and the White Ibis were designed by famous professor Oiva Toikka in 2005. These birds were hand made in Finland in the legendary glass factory at Nuutajärvi village. Since then Ibisis of many other colors have been produced as well.
