A lilac Sun Bottle in by Finnish glass designer Helena Tynell.
This is a more rare color.
Glass designer Helena Tynell is best known for her Sun Bottles (also called ‘Flower bottles’) that were produced 1964-1974 at Riihimäen lasi, in Finland.
The bottles were produced in four sizes: (4/4) is the largest, ca 32cm high; (3/4) ca 23cm; (2/4) ca 17cm and (1/4) is the smallest size and is ca 12,5cm high and fits slightly over 2dl of water.
These decorative vintage bottles are popular objects for interior decoration. They were produced in clear glass as well as in several different colors. In the last few pictures you see this vase together with a neodymium vase and our denim blue vase in different kind of light conditions, and also together with some other Sun Bottles and also a couple of Nanny Still vases in quite matching color.
Helena Tynell designed for Riihimäen lasi in Finland from 1946, and later moved to Germany where she designed for Limburg glass factory from 1976.
In 1986 she moved back to Finland after a long career as glass designer, and in January 2016 she passed away at 97 years of age.
