The annual bird by Oiva Toikka for year 2001 was the Golden Dove with handsome golden color and a red beak and lustred wings. It is called Kultakyyhky in Finnish.
Individuals, like this, that have a lot of different sized air bubbles are said to be among the first ones made of this species. Later the bubbles were omitted from the process because they made the process more demanding. This Golden Dove has greenish lustred wings. In the last picture you see this bird together with another Golden Dove of ours that has bluish lustred wings and no air bubbles. A nice example of how each bird is an unique individual!
Golden dove is described on page 107 in the new book "Toikan Lasilinnut - Toikka's Glass Birds".
