This crystal glass sculpture by Finnish glass designer Aimo Okkolin is called "Kullero" in Finnish (= the name of the yellow flower Trollius europaeus). It is made of cerium crystal, a very rich and beautiful yellow color. It was in production at Riihimäen Lasi in 1974-1976.
Aimo Okkolin created several different fabulous crystal glass sculptures in many different colors at Riihimäen lasi glass factory in Finland in the 60s and 70s. He was exceptionally talented in polishing colored crystal into fabulous creations. Of his creations the Lumpeenkukka (= Water Lily), Terälehdet and Star are the widest known models. The Kullervo theme is found not only as a bowl but also as a vase and a plate. In our last pictures you can also see other items by Aimo Okkolin.
