Kerttu Nurminen (1943- ) designed in glass at Nuutajärvi until 2007 and beside that also designed some ceramics for Arabia.
This glass creation by Kertty Nurminen is called 'Merisiili' in Finnish (=sea urchin) and is part of the Pro Arte series. Merisiili is about 16 x 14,5 x 10cm.
On an opaque white/beige base there is a semilustered green/brown filigree in nice forest colors. The partial luster in this piece is of a mild metallic bluegreen tone. The degree of mirroring depends on the light conditions. These kind of objects have variable properties depending on the light. We tried to photo in a way that enables you to see both what is seen under the luster layer and what kind of impression you get when the item is lustering. So in photos 2 and 3 half of the item is showing the luster and half is showing through the luster layer due to direct light.
