This stylish vintage art bowl in clear glass is blown into a spike mold and designed by Gunnel Nyman.
Gunnel Nyman was a very talented designer who passed away at only 39 years age in 1948. She is an internationally well known designer and she was a pioneer and trendsetter in Glass Design in her time. She threw light on the beauty of a simplified style where the form of an object in itself is the beauty. Her beautiful Glass items won posthumously the gold prize at the XI Triennial in Milan in 1951.
Variations of this theme are among her most widely known designs. The vase is signed with acid etching and only little of the signature is legible.
This vintage art bowl is in a good condition with a few scratches, no chips or cracks, and on the bottom lot of normal scratches due to age.
