A stylish spike mold vase in clear glass designed by Gunnel Nyman.
Gunnel Nyman was a very talented designer who passed away at only 39 years age in 1948. She is an internationally well known designer that definitively was a pioneer and trendsetter in Glass Design in her time. She threw light on the beauty of a simplified style where the form of an object in itself is the beauty. Her beautiful Glass items won posthumously the gold prize at the XI Triennial in Milan in 1951.
This creation and variations of this theme are among her most widely known ones. This vase is produced at Nuutajärvi glass factory in 1955, and hence is signed differently than those produced in the -40:s.
This vase is in a very good condition. It has naturally some insignificant wear at the bottom due to age, but otherwise no markings.
