Stunning art glass by Timo Sarpaneva.
The Orchid and the Kayak are glass creations for which Timo Sarpaneva was awarded The Grand Prize at the Triennale in Milan 1954, and The Orchid was then by House Beautiful Magazine in the United States claimed to be "the most beautiful object in the world". Young designer Timo Sarpaneva got a lot of publicity and became instantly widely known soon after the Trieannale in 1954.
This item bears the product number 3568, and is 24,5cm high and weighs 1,750kg.
