This vintage 'String of Pearls' vase was made in 1987 at Nuutajärvi to honor Gunnel Nyman's considerable contribution to the development of Finnish glass design. The 'String of pearls', GN 37 was designed by Gunnel Nyman in the 40:s .
Gunnel Nyman was a very talented designer who passed away at only 39 years age in 1948. She is an internationally well known designer that definitively was a pioneer and trendsetter in Glass Design in her time. She threw light on the beauty of a simplified style where the form of an object in itself is the beauty. Her beautiful Glass items won posthumously the gold prize at the XI Triennial in Milan in 1951.
This vase is in a very good condition.
