A vintage vase made of curtain glass blown into a spike mold, designed by Gunnel Nyman. This is an early and heavy GN26 model piece.
Gunnel Nyman was a very talented designer who passed away at only 39 years age in 1948. She is an internationally well known designer that definitively was a pioneer and trendsetter in Glass Design in her time. She threw light on the beauty of a simplified style where the form of an object in itself is the beauty. Her beautiful Glass items won posthumously the gold prize at the XI Triennial in Milan in 1951.
This vase is signed with acid etching and part of the signature is legible.
The vase is in a very good condition with only minor signs of use. In the last picture this vase is shown with two other spike mold vases by Gunnel Nyman. Those we have for sale elsewhere on this site.
