This hourglass designed by Tapio Wirkkala is from 1980 and is called "Hetkinen Lapselle!" (- 'One Moment for the Child'). It was designed for the 60-years-anniversary of Mannerheimin lastensuojeluliitto (an organization for Child welfare in Finland founded by Marshal Carl Gustaf Mannerheim in 1920).
These hourglasses come in two sizes. This is the large size (8x8cm).
They are in acrylic and were produced by Vakumotuote Oy.
It takes roughly 13 min for the sand to run through it.
