Ruby Bird is a classic design by Oiva Toikka that was introduced already in 1996. It was produced in ruby red color, which was a color that needed special procedures, and hence was later replaced by cranberry red glass, that needed less time consuming procedures, and gave more consistent colors. The ruby red colored glass had a tendency to have some yellowness. The yellowness shows best in indoor spot light.

The spots in this individual are golden beige and brown and the head has a more silvery tone than its relatives. The bird is signed O.T. II and because of that the price is reduced.
