This bird was desinged by Oiva Toikka for the Insurance company Teollisuusvakuutus in 1990 to celebrate their 100th Anniversary 1890-1990.
The birds are hand made in the legendary glass facory at Nuutajärvi, in Finland.
Each hand made bird has individual features, and this is clearly seen when comparing three individuals of this species. Check the last picture for comparison of the three.
This one is mainly dark blue with a filigree pattern and some golden lustre mainly on the tail. The head is of clear blue glass, with slight lustre. The beak is orange.
