We have two delicate mid century rice porcelain bowls marked ARABIA -F.H.Kj- MADE IN FINLAND. The larger one takes 4dl when filled up to the edges and the smaller one takes 3dl.
Both are about 12cm in diameter. The larger one is ca 7cm high and the smaller one is ca 6cm high.
The glace covers the decorations but light shines through, giving these items their most beautiful appearance.
Unfortunately the smaller bowl has cracked into two pieces, and is glued with professional glass glue. Hence the very much reduced price for this item.
F.H.Kj stands for Friedl Holzer-Kjellberg, the woman that at Arabia in the -40s developed the methods for serial production of the rice-porcelain-type decorations and designed the decoration patterns for these bowls. These kind of items were produced at Arabia mainly in 1950-60.
Check also out our other rice porcelain items at this site. Most of our vintage rice porcelain items are from the eighties and the modern desing of pottery is by Richard Lindh and these items have the blue stamp with the ARABIA crown and ARABIA FINLAND written out on the underside.
