This twin colored 160mm vase has a beautiful outer layer in light blue glass and an inner white glass layer. On the last picture you see this vase together with the 60-years anniversary Savoy vase from 1996 in in beautiful Rio brown color. That vase is 140mm high.
This adorable vase was in production for a short while until 2011. It is rarely found for sale these days.
The Aalto vase designed by famous architect Alvar Aalto is an icon of Finnish design. The first version of it was presented in 1936 and got much attention at the Paris World Fair in 1937. Since then the Aalto vase in many different sizes and versions has conquered the hearts of many generations world wide. It is produced in several different colors.
The elegantly folding glass is a perfect example of Alvar Aalto's free flowing imagination.
The vases are still today mouth blown into a mold at the Iittala glass factory in Finland. The production of one vase goes through 12 work stages, and every single Aalto vase is unique.
